The Heckscher Museum of Art
November 23, 2019 - March 15, 2020

Kicking off The Heckscher Museum of Art’s year-long centennial celebration, this exhibition underscores museum commitment to preserving and presenting the stories of Long Island’s art through their permanent collection. The museum-wide exhibition brings together painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper by dozens of artists to explore the themes of place, dialogue among artists, and landscape. In part to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in America, the show also revels in the remarkable work of locally and internationally renowned artists Hedda Sterne, Betty Parsons, Esphyr Slobodkina, and Miriam Schapiro, among others.
